The studio
What started as a single wheel in a shared space is now a fully equipped pottery studio overlooking the Grand Union Canal. Multiple throwing wheels. Hand-building bench. Kiln on site. A calm, bright, artsy room inside Venice House — a community of working artists in the London Borough of Brent.

Who is Sampada Gurung?
Sampada Gurung is the founder and lead tutor at The Slightly Curious Studio. A multi-disciplinary artist specialising in illustration, ceramics, and crafts, she trained at Falmouth University and has been teaching pottery in London for over seven years.
In 2022, she appeared on Channel 4’s Great Pottery Throw Down (Series 3) — the UK’s most-watched pottery competition. She is a listed artist with Brent Creates, the London Borough of Brent’s curated directory of professional artists, and was a keynote speaker at DYG 2026.
