Contract & Payments

  • Contract Formation: A contract is formed with The Slightly Curious Ltd (trading as The Slightly Curious Studio) upon completion of the booking process and acceptance of the terms.

  • Payment Policy: Full course fees must be paid in advance at the time of booking. Attendance is not permitted until payment is received.

  • Accepted Methods: PayPal and Stripe. Invoices (for schools/local authorities) must be settled within 7 days or before the course starts, whichever is sooner.

Cancellations must be made in writing via email (info@theslightlycurious.studio). Fees are applied based on notice given:

  • Within 7 days of start date: 100% of the course fee (no refund).

  • 15–28 days before start date: 50% of the course fee.

  • More than 28 days before start date: 20% of the course fee.

  • No-shows: Full fees are payable; no refunds or transfers for failure to attend.

Transfers

  • Notice Required: Requests to transfer must be made in writing at least 28 days before the course start date.

  • Conditions: Transfers are subject to availability. A booking can only be transferred once; subsequent requests are treated as cancellations.

Vouchers & Gift Cards

  • Validity: Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. They cannot be honoured after expiry.

  • Refunds: Gift cards are non-refundable.

  • Cancellations: All standard cancellation conditions apply to voucher holders.

Studio Rules & Attendance

  • Late Attendance: Tutors reserve the right to refuse entry to late arrivals if it disrupts the class. This is treated as a late cancellation.

  • Dress Code: Wear clothes you don’t mind getting clay on (aprons are provided). Long hair must be tied back, and nails should be cut short for wheel throwing.

  • Personal Use Only: Classes are for leisure. Work made in sessions should not be sold online or in retail settings.

  • Firing & Collection: * Work is typically ready for collection 3–4 weeks after the session.

    • The studio will hold finished work for two month before it is disposed of.

    • Fired pottery is intended for occasional or decorative use and is not guaranteed for heavy commercial use.

Intellectual Property & Rights

  • Course Materials: Materials provided are for personal use only. The Studio retains ownership of all intellectual property. Reproduction or copying is strictly prohibited.

  • Changes/Cancellations by Studio: The Studio reserves the right to change course content, dates, venues, or instructors, or to cancel a course if bookings are insufficient (with notice provided where possible).

Additional Costs

  • Firing Fees: Classes are priced on estimated output. Prolific makers may be asked to pay a cost price for any work fired over the set amount allocated by the tutor (typically £6 per extra piece).
