Give the gift of an afternoon at a London pottery studio. No object, no clutter — just a few hours of clay, conversation, and something they made with their own hands.
Our pottery class gift cards are redeemable against any class at The Slightly Curious Studio: a 3-hour beginner workshop, a 2-hour wheel throwing class, the 5-week course, or a private session for couples and groups. The recipient picks the class that suits them, books their date, and turns up.
Available from £60 to £250. Digital delivery to your inbox — usually within minutes — or directly to theirs. Valid for one year.
Who pottery makes a great gift for
Partners & couples. A pottery date night is one of the better date ideas in London — hands-on, relaxed, you talk while making, you leave with something you made together. Anniversary, Valentine's, just-because.
Mums, dads & grandparents. Pottery is the kind of gift that works when you don't know what to buy. It's not stuff. It's a memorable afternoon, easy to opt into, and very photogenic. Especially good for retired parents or anyone who's "got everything they need."
Friends going through a moment. New parents, recovering from something hard, recently moved, just need a break. Two hours at the wheel is genuinely restorative — the kind of gift that says "I see you" without trying too hard.
Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, Eid. Holiday season is our biggest gift-card period. Buy now, give whenever — no shipping deadlines, nothing to wrap badly.
Birthdays. Especially milestone ones. Especially for people who'd rather have an experience than a Bluetooth speaker.
Hen do organisers planning ahead. Send the bride-to-be a £100 voucher with a note: "your hen is sorted, this is just for you."
Corporate gifting. Reward, retain, or thank a team member with something they'll actually remember. We can do custom messaging and bulk order discounts — email us.
What they can redeem against
A gift card covers any of our classes:
-
Beginner Pottery Workshop (£60, 3 hours) — wheel throwing and hand-building combined
-
Pottery Wheel Throwing Class (£80, 2 hours) — focused time at the wheel
-
5-Week Pottery Course (£260) — beginner to confident in five sessions
-
Private Pottery Class (from £100 per person) — couples, hens, corporate, 1-to-1
If they want to use the voucher towards a higher-priced class, they top up the difference. If the class is cheaper, the remaining balance stays on the card for next time.
Optional firing and glazing is £6 per piece — also redeemable against gift card balance.
How it works
Choose an amount. £60, £100, £120, or £250 covers most classes individually or with a generous top-up.
Add a personal message at checkout. We'll include it in the gift email.
Delivery. Sent by email within minutes of purchase, either to you (to forward at your moment) or directly to the recipient on a date you choose.
Redemption. The recipient emails us at info@theslightlycurious.studio with their gift card code to book their class. For classes booked via ClassBento, they apply the code at ClassBento checkout.
Valid for one year from purchase date. If they need more time, get in touch.
Why pottery works as a gift
Most gifts arrive, sit briefly, and become clutter. Pottery is the opposite — the recipient gets an experience first (the afternoon at the studio, the mess, the wobbly first attempts) and then a thing they made themselves (a mug they'll actually use, a bowl with their fingerprints on it).
We've watched people open mugs they made years ago and still light up. That's the bet pottery makes that a candle doesn't.
