A private pottery class can be booked as a 1-to-1 session, a group workshop, or a fun date experience. It’s beginner-friendly and tailored to you, with a tutor guiding you step-by-step through wheel throwing and/or hand-building (depending on your booking). You’ll have plenty of time to create your own pieces with personalised support throughout.

What happens in our workshop?
Welcome & Introduction

Get settled in the studio and meet your tutor. We’ll explain the pottery process and materials, then go through what you want to focus on . Whether it’s a 1-to-1 session tailored to you or a group class shaped around what everyone wants to try.

Enjoy a Demonstration

Your tutor will guide you step-by-step through the techniques for your session (wheel throwing and/or hand-building), with tips matched to your level.

Create your own Pottery

You’ll make your own pottery at your own pace. Exploring form, texture, and ideas with personalised support throughout.

Finishing & Glazing Option

At the end of the session, you can choose to have your pottery pieces fired and glazed for £6 per piece. Glazed pieces will be ready for collection after approximately 4 weeks, and you’ll be notified when they are ready.

Everything You Need to Know

Yes, there are several parking options available:

  • On-site parking via Sippy location 301307
  • Alperton Sainsbury’s parking available through JustPark
  • Free street parking on Carlyon Road

Please allow extra time to park before the workshop begins.

No experience is necessary. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners, and full guidance is provided throughout the session

Yes, the workshop is suitable for children aged 5 and above. Please contact us in advance so we can ensure the session is appropriate and safe for them.

Yes, we offer private bookings and corporate team-building workshops. Please contact us for availability, group sizes, and customised options.

The workshop runs for 3 hours, allowing time for hand-building, wheel throwing, decorating, and a short introduction at the start.

Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy. Aprons are usually provided, but clay can still get on clothing.

You’ll create pottery pieces using both hand-building techniques and the pottery wheel. Each participant’s pieces will be unique.

All clay, tools, and equipment are provided.

Yes. At the end of the session, you can choose to have your pieces glazed and fired for £6 per piece

Glazed pieces will be ready for collection approximately 4 weeks after the workshop. You’ll receive an email when they are ready.

Once glazed and fired, pieces are generally food safe. However, if a piece has cracks, it may not be suitable for food use.
