  • Wheel throwing is shaping clay on a spinning pottery wheel—great for smooth, round pieces like cups, bowls, and vases.
  • Hand-building is shaping clay by hand without a wheel—ideal for more free-form or sculptural pieces, like plates, planters, tiles, and decorative items.

You can make your own handmade, customised piece that’s truly one of a kind. it’s totally up to you what you create, but popular pieces include cups/mugs, bowls, plates, vases, planters, and trinket dishes.

  • Introduction to Pottery (3 hours): a mix of wheel throwing + hand-building — ideal if you want to try a bit of everything.

  • Wheel-Only (2 hours): focused time on the pottery wheel — great for complete beginners or a refresher.
  • Drop in session: A casual, flexible pottery session where you can drop in and make your own piece with tutor support available throughout.
  • Longer course : A longer course is a multi-week programme where you learn the basics of the pottery wheel step-by-step, with time to practise, improve, and create your own pieces with ongoing tutor support.
